How to “Look Back” at a Previous Day’s Steps: A Pacer Guide for iOS & Android

Hey Pacers! Have you ever wanted to go back and see how many steps you got on a specific day? Want to see if you walked more this Thanksgiving than last Thanksgiving? Or did you just have a great day earlier in the week and want to see how far you walked? Fortunately, you can turn back time using Pacer’s “look back” function! (legal note – Pacer cannot literally turn back time. Pacer is still working on adding time travel technology to the Pacer app)

The function works the same in iOS and Android, but the screen looks a tiny bit different. Pacer for iOS currently displays some information on step numbers in the calendar – we hope to bring this to Android in the future as well. If you’d like to see Android-specific screenshots, please scroll down past the iOS section for Android screenshots.

You can also use Insights (iOS) or Trends (Android) to check a graph of your past data. Insights is a great way to see how you did over a week, a month or a longer period of time. If you do find a great day or week in insights, you can use the “Look Back” method to check your specific steps on those days.

iOS “Look Back”

Pacer shows your current day’s data by default. You can change the day to look back at a previous day to see the same main Pacer interface but with that day’s data. This allows you to take a screenshot or just remember how many steps you got that day.

1. Click the “Calendar” icon at the top of the main Pacer interface.

Click the “Calendar” icon at the top of the main Pacer interface. This will show today’s date by default. Clicking anywhere on the date or calendar will bring up a calendar selection menu.

2. Select the date you want to look back at

Choose the date you want to check from the menu. You can go forward or backward between months by clicking the “<” and “>” icons at the top right and left.

3. Look back at that day’s steps!

You’ll see the same exact interface that you normally see, but you’ll notice that the date has changed to the date you selected. Your steps and other info will reflect the date you picked!

If you leave this page (go to Feed, Insights etc), the date will reset to the current day when you go back to this interface. Try taking a screenshot of these steps so that you have the data saved for future reference.

Now brag to your friends that you got more steps than last Thanksgiving or show off that amazing day you forgot to screenshot earlier!

Note – “Look Back” only applies to this main Pacer interface. This does not “reset” Pacer’s other features (like Insights) to the past day you selected.
